Golf for Kids Sake

Harry Brown’s partners with numerous organizations within the community, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota. They recently got involved in Golf for Kid's Sake. This fun event took place at Faribault Golf Club to raise money for a worthy cause.

A warm, sunny day in August brought out the best in Harry Brown’s and leaders from the community in their golf game and their commitment to the youth of the area. All the proceeds from the event go to the organization and help support one-to-one mentoring for kids who are at risk. Everyone had a good time as they worked on their handicap and vied for the honor of top golfer with a little good-natured fun.

Harry Brown’s Commitment to Community

Our locally owned and family-operated business looks at everyone as part of our extended family. We take pride in giving back to the community that has supported us for all these decades. We get involved with events like Golf for Kids Sake because we want to help the next generation succeed in life and have the support they need to accomplish great things.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota Strengthening Communities by Nurturing Children

Big Brothers Big Sisters is an organization with a history of over 100 years and a focus on equipping children with the mentors they need to fulfill their potential. The organization has matched countless adult volunteers as mentors with children in the community.

Big Brothers Big Sisters believes that mentoring is necessary to help children develop confidence, set goals, and improve relationships. Having these mentoring relationships can help them avoid risky behaviors and encourage success in education. The organization offers multiple programs to reach these goals, including the traditional community-based mentor program where a mentor and the kid they are paired with do activities they enjoy. School-site mentoring allows the mentor to meet with the child at school and participate in fun activities. Kids who are enrolled in REACH or AVID classes can also be paired with a mentor at their school or online.

Harry Brown’s will continue to support worthy causes like this in Faribault and in surrounding communities like Northfield, Lakeville, and Owatonna and help them as they help others.
