Granny

Hi, I'm Granny!

Hi there! I’m Granny, Sales Specialist at Harry Brown's in Faribault, MN. I grew up in Elgin, MN, in a farming and trucking family, before leaving for college to pursue a business degree. I now live in Rochester, where I’ve been for nearly 30 years, volunteering with groups like Habitat for Humanity and working as Go2Granny at Harry Brown’s. Weekends often take me to North Mankato to visit my daughter and granddaughters, who bring so much joy to my life. I love Minnesota’s outdoors, enjoying hiking, fishing, and state parks. Recently, shopping with my granddaughters has become a favorite pastime, but I also love grabbing a pineapple and kale smoothie at Freshens.

Growing up in rural Minnesota was a ton of fun! My family is from a small town called Elgin, MN that sits neatly on Hwy 42 between Plainview and Eyota. A strong farming community, I had the privilege of growing up in a family-owned business; a trucking company called Elgin Milk Service. Farming and Trucking was my life until about 18 years of age at which I left the small town for the big city to go to college for my business degree.

My high school can no longer be found on a registry or at least as it originated. The school is now known as Plainview-Elgin Milleville and no matter how salty I may be, I still cheer on for the Plainview Elgin Milleville Bull Dogs. Go Bull Dogs Go!

Most weekends I make the trek from Rochester, MN to North Mankato to visit with my daughter's family. I am a proud grandmother and those three little granddaughters of mine simply light up my life and fill my cup. Nearly a day goes by that I don't at least chat with them and their mother and father. Family is a priority in this Granny's world!

I am a true Minnesotan and with that comes the love of the area landscape and unique topography that Minnesota has to offer. I have visited nearly every State Park and enjoyed all of the extracurricular activities of each. Some of my favorite memories are those for which I dared to venture into the unknown territory of the Boundary Water Canoe Area (BWCA). Whenever I have time, you can find me outdoors. I enjoy the lake front, the rivers, streams and anywhere I can hike. My children are the same way and therefore anytime we can put a line in the water and do a little fishing, you will find us there. That being said, as my granddaughters get older, shopping has become a favored hobby as of late and we are continually seeking fun spaces to spend Granny's hard-earned monies. Spending time with those three girls and spoiling them anytime that I can is my current favorite way to spend time when I am not at the store.

I have lived in Rochester, home of the Mayo Clinic, for almost 30 years now and call that ever-changing city my home. I have volunteered and serve in the Rochester community with organizations like Habitat for Humanity and the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce (of which Go2Granny is an active member). I recently downsized from a single-family home to a robust and active apartment community of which I can easily see myself retiring there. I enjoy my role as Go2Granny at Harry Brown's so much that I simplified my home life to afford more time that I can commit to building community connections and increasing my ability to serve the great customers that trust me to provide an exceptional experience in automotive.

One of my favorite places to grab a bite whenever my son is home from his military service is Freshens, with the only location in the top floor of the Mall of America. I highly recommend any of the menu items, but my favorite is the pineapple and kale smoothie.
