Workhorse Like Power

RAM offers the 5500 in two powertrains, the 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel I6, and the 6.4-liter Hemi V-8. The Cummins engine offers exceptional torque, as well as outstanding towing and hauling capabilities, and is paired with the Aisin six-speed automatic transmission for optimized power, and is fully electronically controlled. The 6.7-liter also has 360 horsepower and 800 lb-ft of torque to get any job done. For the Hemi engine, which is standard in the 2022 model, it is paired with an 8HP75 eight-speed automatic transmission which offers reliability and efficiency. The Aisin six-speed transmission is also available for the Hemi as well for even more towing power. 

Safety for Any Job

Whether you’re on a job site or hauling your trailer cross country, the RAM 5500 has got safety covered for you. You can always stay in control with features like LaneSense Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, and Forward Collision Warning. Maintain a preset distance from the vehicle ahead of you with Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop, so you never have to slam on your brakes again. If you and your crew plan on working into the night, the 5500 has your back with that too. Providing ample lighting with Adaptive Forward Lighting featuring bight LEDs that can turn up to 15 degrees to light up any obstacle ahead. 

Cabin Trims

Four different cabin trims are available for the 2022 RAM 5500. The Tradesmen, SLT, Laramie, and Limited. Boasting work grade vinyl, or easy-to-clean cloth upholstery, is the Tradesman, while the SLT comes available with four cloth color options for bench or bucket seats, and is accented with features like a leather-wrapped steering wheel and power driver’s seat. For a more refined atmosphere, the Laramie has an option of two colors for leather-trimmed seats, each with suede inserts and soft-touch surfaces for easy clean-ups. The last cabin trim is the Limited, which offers all leather surfaces, aluminum, or real wood trim, and newly available for 2022 is the black interior upgrade. 

Tech On-Demand

A Digital Rearview Mirror now equipped with Tow Mode is just one of the available tech features in the 2022 5500. This improved mirror provides views a normal mirror just couldn’t give, like a look beyond your trailer or upfit from a mounted camera. Display Driver Information, check your trailer lights, set traction control, or shift gears with Off-Road pages, displayed front and center. The 5500 also comes with a 12.0-inch touchscreen display with available Uconnect 5, smartphone capabilities, built-in navigation, SiriusXM Radio, and a Surround View Camera. The 2022 RAM 5500 never lets your devices go uncharged with a wireless charging pad, nine USB ports throughout the cabin, and four Type A and Type C chargers.
