Our family had a very close call on Nov. 20, but good people in Faribault saved the day. Our 24-year-old daughter loaded up her Neon to drive to Colorado for her ski instructor job. We had just spent a lot of money fixing the car. We received a call from our very upset girl an hour or so after she left. The car had made a big bang, it misfired, she lost brakes and barely got off the freeway safely. Back here in River Falls I did not know what to do. A kindly passerby who said he was a mechanic helped her limp it safely over to Harry Brown’s auto. On a Saturday! A mechanic named Josh gave it priority. He said, “Don’t panic till I look it over.” He called back and told me my shop had neglected to fasten a transmission seal causing the problem. He fixed it and put her on the road, and she made it and for a very reasonable price. What would have happened if the passerby had not helped or Josh had not been so helpful and diligent? Wow. My wife and I are so grateful, and readers should know about this random act of kindness in Faribault. Dan and Beth Woll River Falls, Wis.

I truly enjoyed dealing with Mike Hruby. My experience in the past is the salesperson talks to my husband and ignores me...even if the vehicle is for me. Mike didn't do that. He acknowlaged me and directed questions and comments to me. I normally dont like a salesperson riding in the vehicle with me when I test drive...they always interrupt my husbands and my conversation. I am so glad Mike rode with us because there are so many options to this Tahoe that I would have been frustrated if he hadn't pointed them out. He was very helpful after we purchased the Tahoe in showing us other features the Tahoe had. We appreciate all the help he gave us. Needless to say, my head was spinning by the time we left the dealership. Mike also let us park the vehicles we were looking at side by side to do comparisons. It was nice of Greg Brown to congratulate us on our purchase. I would definitely recommend Harry Brown's to our friends!

Thanks for all of your work in getting this deal finished. This had to have been the best experience I've had in purchasing a vehicle. I would not hesitate to recommend your services to anyone. Our conversations, both e-mail and over the phone, after normal work hours, showed me that you were genuinely concerned that I was comfortable, well informed, and ready to purchase this vehicle. You worked around my schedule, not yours. I didn't feel any pressure to purchase at any time from you during our conversations, which was a nice feeling. Thank you for suggesting that I apply for financing through you even though I had already secured financing through the bank in which I normally do business. It did save me on the interest rate and shortened the term of the loan. Your response to my arriving a couple of hours earlier than expected to the dealership on Saturday showed that you have things under control. You didn't keep me waiting until you were finished with your other appointments nor did you try to push me through the closing process to get me out of the way. It worked out very well. Thank you. My wife loves the vehicle and so do I. The only problem is that we are now trying to decide which one of us will drive it. But most important isn't the vehicle. Just wanted you to know that I was in last week getting my Trailblazer serviced and the young man (Joshua Hoyt) who took care of me had wonderful customer service skills. He’s a keeper when it comes to people skills! He wanted to know what the problems were, offered suggestions and options to fix them, took care of my transportation (including my dog), called me during the day with an update, and even gently tried to up sell me with additional maintenance work that can be spaced out over time. I’m not being sarcastic when I say this, I really did appreciate being told what recommended maintenance was coming down the pipeline so I could budget for it. All in all, the “getting your car worked on” experience was much more pleasant thanks to Joshua and the great group of employees you have back in the service department at Harry Brown’s. Paula P.

Just wanted to thank you for making our experience Saturday very enjoyable. I have dealt with sale persons in the past and have been very upset when I left the dealership. Here are a couple of the things I appreciated: You weren't pushy. You let us look and make up our minds without interfering. You let us compare the vehicles we were looking at. I have never gotten to do that before! You rode along with us(which normally I don't like) but you were quiet unless we had a question or you were telling us about the vehicle. You helped me understand the vehicles. You were very knowledgeable about the product you were selling. You let Gordy and I have "quiet" time to talk with each other.
